Wayne, N.J. − Cardinal Components, Inc. has introduced the CJ series of factory-configurable oscillators (XO) and voltage-controlled oscillators (VCXO) in a frequency range from 10 MHz to 1.5 GHz. The operating voltage is 2.5 or 3.3 volts. Target applications include communications, computing, datacommunications, multimedia, networking, industrial and homeland security.
The CJ series is available in two temperature ranges: 0 degrees C to 70 degrees C for commercial applications and -40 degrees C to +85 degrees C for industrial applications. The parts are housed in surface-mount plastic 5- x 3.2-mm, plastic 5- x 7-mm, ceramic 5- x 3.2-mm, and 5- x 7-mm packages. Output options are CMOS, LVDS, and LVPECL. Stability options include 25 and 50 PPM.
The CJ series is a low-power compliant product versus competitive solutions with 20 mA in CMOS @ 1 to 250 MHz, 23 mA in LVDS @ 750 MHz to 1.5 GHz, and 54 mA in LVPECL @ 750 MHz to 1.5 GHz, said Cardinal. Phase jitter (12 kHz -20 MHz) is 0.9 ps RMS.
