Santa Clara, Calif. − Neonode Inc. has extended its Multisensing family of touch and proximity solutions with the introduction of its low-cost Single Side Sensor (SSS) aimed at consumer electronics product applications. The good news for buyers − a price tag of $1.00 in high volumes to add touch technology to short lifecycle products.
The Single Side Sensor was developed to add touch functionality to low-cost, high-volume consumer products, said Neonode. Priced at $1.00 in high volumes, it is specifically designed to meet the price requirements of cost-sensitive product segments. These include wearable electronics products, printers, home appliances, toys/games, and gesture sensing mobile phone sleeves, and accessories.
The Single Side Sensor integrates Neonode’s NN1001 controller, optics and a small printed circuit board (PCB), which reside on only one side of a display (or any type of surface). As a result, it requires less hardware than Neonode’s high-end touch solutions. The SSS can also be used in combination with Neonode’s other high-end technologies including the Circular Touch for wearables.
The Single Side Sensor will initially support up to 7-inch displays with a roadmap to support larger display sizes.
Pricing: $1.00 in high volume quantities.
