The Max-M12 connector withstands connector-to-cable retention forces of 444 N and contact retention forces of 110 N, tested at 100 mating cycles minimum. This interconnect is suited for heavy equipment, rail mass transit, mining, and process control as well as in applications that require high-speed data transmission.
The Max-M12 can easily withstand extremely harsh environments and electrical noise, according to Amphenol. The field installable and repairable connector is a standalone system that does not need to be overmolded to a cable to meet harsh environment applications. However, it can be if needed.
The Max-M12 is backward compatible and can be mated with any standard M12 with the same indexing. Designed to meet high vibration and extreme temperatures ranging from -55°C to 125°C, the connector maintains a current rating of 4 A. All versions of this high-speed connector are IP67 or above rated, making them dust and water proof, as well as resistant to high pressure and high temperature wash downs.
