Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI) (NASDAQ:TXN) today announced that Peter Balyta, Ph.D., has been elected vice president of the company. Balyta is also president of the Education Technology division, which focuses on market-leading educational technology to improve student achievement in mathematics and science.
“Peter’s unique combination of experience in global markets, tenure with the Education Technology team and his first-hand experience as a math educator is a valuable asset to our company,” said Rich Templeton, TI's chairman, president and CEO.
Balyta joined TI in 2000 as a manager of educational sales. He has since held a number of positions within the Education Technology division, including manager of product strategy and strategic alliances, director of global product and marketing strategy, and general manager of Europe and Asia Pacific Regions. He most recently served as director of worldwide marketing.
Balyta earned a bachelor’s degree in education with a focus on secondary mathematics from McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, followed by a Master of Science from Concordia University, also in Montreal/He also earned a Master of Business Administration with a focus on international management from University of Texas at Dallas, as well as a doctorate in mathematics education from McGill University.
