QualityTrade (QualityTrade.com), a new online business-to-business portal that has launched with 12,000 members, offers a better algorithm for providing search results. It lists the highest quality suppliers and products first, not the ones that pay the most.
HOW IT WORKS
The other top portals of today let suppliers buy a higher position in the search results – even if another supplier provides a higher quality product or is ISO certified.
QualityTrade’s algorithm returns search results to buyers that list the best suppliers first. Supplier credentials are verified and evaluated by the algorithm. Suppliers cannot buy better positions in the search results.
The portal ensures the integrity of its results with a combination of verification services that can include onsite inspections, auditing, financial assessment and international benchmarking.
The company has partnerships with certification and accredited bodies including Bureau Veritas, JAS-ANZ, AON and Dunn & Bradstreet. This enables the verification of certifications and other information submitted by suppliers.
QualityTrade’s Founder and Managing Director is Nigel Johnston. Johnston has a background as an investment manager in the UK and Australia. He also has been CEO of URM, a major UK and Australian waste and recycling company with more than 700 staff.
One early-stage investor in QualityTrade is high-profile investment manager Jordan Cvetanovski, who was named "Best of 2011" by France’s Mieux Vivre Votre Argent magazine and a "Star Manager" by City Wire.
