LaFox, Ill. - Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced today reduced pricing on the latest NX-Series of insulated-gate bipolar transistors from Powerex, Inc. The devices are being offered at a ten-percent discount for a limited time.
The six IGBTs use the 6.1 CSTBT chip, which offers significantly lower losses compared to competing chip technologies. When compared with an aluminum nitride ceramic (AIN) substrate with superior thermal performance the NX 6.1 Series provides an efficient, cost effective, power module solution for a wide variety of applications, including motor drives, UPS, fuel cell inverters, wind turbine pitch control systems, and wind and solar inverters.
According to Powerex, additional key features of the devices include:
· 225–600A 1200V dual modules and 100–150A 1200V six packs with common base plate in NX-M package
· Optimized for high current density and wide reverse bias safe operating area (RBSOA) to assure reliability
· Small, cost-optimized packages
o 17mm thick
o Low inductance
o Low thermal impedance
