Carson City, Nev. - Ametherm today announced that the company has more than doubled its manufacturing capacity since acquiring the SURGE-GARD™ line of inrush current limiting thermistors -- in addition to a wide range of NTC chip, surface-mount, and disc thermistors -- from Measurement Specialties Inc. (formerly RTI Electronics) in 2013.
In addition to Ametherm's expansion through product line acquisitions, the company's own inrush current limiters and NTC thermistors have experienced 7% growth over the past year, due in large part to Ametherm's extensive worldwide distributor network. To increase its production capabilities, the company doubled the size of its manufacturing plant with the purchase of a new 36,000-square-foot facility in December 2013. Since that time, an additional sintering oven has been deployed with 1.5 times the capacity of the original.
"We've experienced amazing growth over the past year -- both organically and through acquisitions -- and increasing our manufacturing capacity to keep up with demand has been a priority," said Eric Rauch, president and CEO of Ametherm. "With our new facility, sintering oven, and outstanding network of distributors, all of our products are readily available to our customers. We are also in a great position for further growth, especially in the temperature sensing market, where the acquisition from Measurement Specialties allows us to offer our customers more sensing products in a wider variety of packages."
Made in the U.S.A., Ametherm products are recognized by Underwriters Laboratories (UL) and the Canadian Standards Association (CSA International) for ensured safety and are REACH-compliant. Many also are RoHS-2 certified (with Exemption 7a and 7(c)-1). The devices are optimized for a wide range of applications, including AC motors, power supplies, motor drives, audio amplifiers, battery chargers, air sensors, HVAC systems, high-speed computers, MRIs, and X-ray machines.
