Mouser Electronics, Inc., the global authorized distributor with the newest semiconductors and electronic components, today announced that it is stocking several award-winning technologies recently recognized at this year’s Sensors Expo.
Sensors Magazine announced the winners of the 2015 “Best of Sensors Expo” Awards at the Sensors Expo & Conference, held June 9 – 11 at the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, California. The 2015 awards focused on sensor applications, excellence among engineers, and sensor technology innovations. The judging panel presented 16 awards in all, including awards for leading products that Mouser currently stocks from ADI, Omron, and ams.
In the Application Award category, Analog Devices, Inc. took home the Gold for its Blackfin Low-power Imaging Platform (BLIP). The BLIP system integrates the ADSP-BF707 Blackfin processor and Analog Devices' software code libraries to enable intelligent motion sensing, people counting, vehicle detection, and face detection. The Analog Devices ADZS-BF707-BLIP2 Evaluation Board demonstrates the features of the BLIP2 system through an intuitive configuration GUI and on-board USB port.
An Application Award Honorable Mention went to Omron Electronic Components for its Human Vision Components (HVC), the basis of the Omron B5T HVC Face Detection Sensor Module. Omron’s B5T HVC module incorporates 10 algorithms of Omron's OKAO™ Vision Image Sensing Technology — including face recognition, expression estimation, and hand detection — which can be used to recognize the nonverbal behavior of people.
In the Innovation Award category, ams won the Gold for its AS5047D and AS5147 Magnetic Rotary Position Sensors. These high-resolution rotary position sensors feature a revolutionary integrated dynamic angle error compensation (DAEC™) with almost no latency. The AS5047D Magnetic Position Adapter Board is a small PCB that enables simple and quick evaluation of the AS5047D magnetic position sensor without requiring designers to build a test fixture or additional PCB.
An Innovation Award Honorable Mention went to Freescale Semiconductors and the MEMS Industry Group for their Accelerated Innovation Community (AIC). AIC supports community development of an open-source repository of algorithms and datasets for sensor fusion and analytics, aiming to lower cost and barriers to entry and accelerate innovation.
