TTI, Inc., a world leading specialist distributor of electronic components, is now JOSCAR registered, further strengthening its position as a leading supplier to customers the defence and other hi-rel market sectors.
Comments Lee Thompson, Director Industry Marketing, Europe, Defence, Aerospace & Space for TTI: “A real challenge for companies working in these demanding sectors is how to manage the supply chain in respect to export controls. There are different interpretations of the regulations across Europe, but more and more we need to know the nature of the equipment that the components we sell will end up in. In effect, we need to know our customers’ customers.”
JOSCAR, the Joint Supply Chain Accreditation Register, is the new accreditation system for the aerospace, defence and security sectors. The system was established following an initiative led by ADS Group and includes a growing number of prime contractors as registered buyers. Explains Thompson: “JOSCAR ensures and demonstrates that companies have the correct procedures and processes in place.” TTI is also AS 9100 A & C approved and holds a number of other international and company-specific approvals required by the defence and aerospace markets.
To help customers through the maze of parts approvals, TTI has just produced a brochure which lets users see easily to what level a component is approved, COTS Plus, IECQ, CECC Mil-Spec/ DSCC Drawing or ESCC/EPPL/NASA/JAXA. Download it here (need link).
Concludes Thompson: “Defence & Aerospace is growing significantly for TTI. We believe that is because of the franchises we carry and the relationships that we have with them which enables us to support customers who have justifiably exacting needs.”
